- The Tormek wet grinder is like a spider in a web of accessories! In fact, the machine is the core of a well thought out system. There are so many accessories available that you are rarely faced with surprises. Almost all tools can be sharpened: from ax to peeling knife, from secateurs to gouges! The T-8 is designed for heavier grinding work and can run continuously without overheating. Tormek T-8 upgrades. Tormek T-8 maximizes precision thanks to the revolutionary fully molded housing that guarantees minimal play for the Universal support. This gives you the best possible conditions to succeed with your grinding. Tormek's unique drive system is efficient and manages to maintain a constant speed, even under full load. The Tormek Original Sharpening Stone sharpens all qualities of steel, including HSS. The machine is equipped with a number of elaborate details such as stone locking with EzyLock, a water basin with lift and a removable magnetic scraper for efficient cleaning. On the new T-8 model, Tormek has integrated the previous mounted brackets into the fully molded housing. This guarantees minimum clearance for the universal support; an innovation to control sharpening improves and increases the accuracy of the final results. For long tools that drip the water over the edge (such as chef's knives and planer blades), you can add the 'water chute'. Put the widest part of the chute in the middle of the basin and the water slide will make the water run straight into the basin again, even with the longest tool! (see photo 6) The removable scraper is equipped with a strong magnet, which attracts the removed steel particles from the ground instruments. This keeps your stone clean. These small steel particles are pressed into the stone surface differently and can influence the sharpening. When you clean the water bowl, you will find that most of these steel particles are on the magnet. When you remove the scraper, the magnet will release the steel particles and you can easily clean the bin. Including renewed SE-77 straight chisel holder. New to this version is that the chisel holder is adjustable for all sizes of chisels. This way your chisel fits tightly in the holder and can no longer shift during grinding and cutting. Tip! Never leave a round water stone in the water. If you do, a part is in the water and a part is not. As a result, the stone 'sinks' and becomes egg-shaped. Once this has been done, the stone can be rounded up again with a calibration device, as this will have a different effect on the grinding result. After use, let the stone rotate for a while without water, so that it goes out and let the machine dry! In addition, a stone can show a slight sideways swing. This has to do with the production process of the stones and has no influence on the cutting result. Pay attention! Is the grindstone not 100% round? First zip the sharpening stone!
