- A cutting mat seems like a simple accessory, but many demands are placed on a cutting mat:
- A cutting mat must be flat.
- A cutting mat should not be easy to cut.
- A cutting mat should not affect the direction of cutting, so it must have a homogeneous top layer.
- A cutting mat should protect the underlying table top.
The high quality HBM cutting mats meet all these requirements.
These cutting mats consist of a 3mm thick three-layer sandwich of a hard plastic (HD Polystyrene - against cutting), with a self-healing elastomer on both sides (the cutting surface). Due to the hard core layer in the middle, the cutting mat cannot be easily cut and the mat retains its shape even after frequent use.
The HBM cutting mats can be used on both sides and are provided with useful prints on both sides, such as lines, circles and protractors, to serve as a reference when cutting.
The HBM cutting mats are available in the following sizes:
