  • Description

9886 HBM Industrial Dust Extraction For Blasting Cabinets During blasting in a blasting booth, the blasting grit smashes against the workpiece, breaking the grit into smaller pieces. This creates very fine particles, which can remain suspended in the air as dust particles for a long time before descending. Often these fine dust particles are scattered in a cloud of larger grit particles, which in themselves could have been used a second time. During blasting, however, it is highly desirable to extract the entire dust cloud from the blast cabinet as quickly as possible, so that the view of the workpiece is preserved. However, this has the disadvantage that many large grit particles that could have been reused are also sucked in and are therefore lost. With a "normal dust extractor" for blasting cabins, this is "solved" by giving the large dust particles "the time" to settle in the cabin, or by making the dust extraction less powerful, resulting in poor visibility of the workpiece. This cyclone extractor has been specially designed to separate the large reusable grit particles from the fine dust particles, while the dust cloud in the blasting cabin is still extracted from the blasting cabin as quickly as possible, so that a good view of the workpiece is maintained! Operation: On the suction side, where the flexible exhaust hose from the blast cabinet enters the exhaust system, the airflow is tangentially introduced into a cylindrical space. This creates a powerful and rapidly rotating vortex (cyclone) in this cylinder. Due to the centrifugal force, the heavy (and large) dust particles will be thrown out of the vortex. These heavy particles will slide down the wall of the cylinder by gravity. These larger particles are then collected by the funnel at the bottom of the vortex space, which leads to the collection bin at the bottom. Relatively heavy grit particles are therefore collected in this collecting container, which can often be reused for blasting. The light dust particles are not thrown out of the vortex and will move towards the center of the vortex. These fine particles will exit the vortex at the top center of the vortex, after which the airflow then enters a filter chamber. The filter is very fine-mesh, so that the fine dust particles can no longer leave this filter space and remain in the filter. After some time (and some accumulation) the fine dust particles will fall off the filter and end up in the dust drawer at the bottom of the machine. The filter room can be accessed through a large door at the front of the machine. The dust drawer is extendable and can therefore be emptied easily (use a dust mask!). The power source behind this dust separating vortex extractor is a large centrifugal fan that draws the air through the filter with great speed and force. If you like to keep a good view of your workpiece during blasting, then purchasing this cyclone extraction is highly recommended!
